Zenith Oilfield Technology Limited is celebrating today, after it was featured in the first ever league table ranking the fastest growing international sales by UK private companies.

The company was ranked 85 in the Sunday Times International Track 100 published yesterday.

The Sunday Times International Track 100 measures the success of companies based on the last two years of audited accounts.

A typical International Track 100 company is unquoted, independent and registered in the UK. It must have international sales above £500,000 in the base year and more than £1 million in the second year of accounts.

International sales must reach 10% or more of total sales in the final year and total sales must also exceed £5 million.

Ranked among the top 100 in the first ever Sunday Times Track 100 International table, the inclusion follows the news that the company reported 30% growth in 2009. Turnover increased from £11 million to £14 million and is almost exclusively derived from international sales operations.

The company invests heavily in technology development devoting more than £1.1 million to developing pioneering tools at its onsite research facility in Inverurie.

Some of the trailblazing technology that has been developed by Zenith includes ‘XT’, a system that monitors oil and gas well pressure and temperatures at up to 500 Celsius, 20 degrees hotter than the planet Venus.

It has also pioneered ‘Z-Sight’ - a well surveillance tool that gathers crucial information from wells and processes it providing key data to well management teams enabling optimal oil recovery.

With 70 staff, Zenith’s revenue is generated outwith the UK, principally in the Middle and Far East. In 2009 the company was awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its achievements in international trade.

Zenith managing director, Greg Davie, is proud of what the company and its workforce have achieved in just five years.

“Inclusion in this prestigious list is an acknowledgement of the hard work and entrepreneurship of the great team of people we have at Zenith. Our focus now will be to continue to invest in the right people to take the business forward and maintain our commitment to technology research and development activities allowing us to deliver game-changing tools to the global oil and gas market place. With the continued thrust of our business aimed at established and emerging oil and gas regions we expect Zentih to continue to perform well on the international energy stage.”
