Zenith Oilfield Technology will be showcasing its new cutting edge XT extreme temperature monitoring system at the SPE Heavy Oil Conference in Kuwait, 12-14 December 2011.
This innovative system uses state of the art technologies to push artificially lifted well temperature monitoring boundaries up to 500C. The XT system follows on from Zenith’s successful HT high temperature gauge, which monitors wells including steam flood and HPHT operations, and has been successfully proven at temperatures of up to 260C.
The company will also feature its innovative Z-Sight automated well surveillance technology which efficiently manages large volumes of well and pump data, performing automatic data analysis in real-time to deliver simple well status messages to the operator. Following the system’s intelligent optimization recommendations, it has been proven to boost production between 6% to more than 50%. In one installation of Z-Sight, production was increased by 23%, generating US $5.37 million additional revenue from a single well.
"Our XT and HT technology overcomes the historic problem of monitoring high temperature operations, with other gauges available having short life spans and giving erroneous results. We now have robust technology that performs in these extreme environments which will ultimately improve production. The Z-Sight automated well surveillance system gives recommendations for optimization, further enhancing well performance."Greg Davie, Managing Director
On one of the first Z-Sight systems installed in South America, the technology’s real time optimization recommendations have assisted in boosting the well’s production by an average of 221 barrels of oil per day. This is a 23% increase in production from the well. The well has produced an additional 57,200 barrels of oil in the 259 days since it was optimized. At an average oil price of $93.83 per barrel for the period, the additional revenue provided by this single well now stands at over US $5.37 million.
Z-Sight is expected to increase Zenith’s gross revenue by over 15% and installations are forecast to rise from 27 in 2011 to over 300 in 2012 with sales transpiring in the Middle East, Asia, South America and Africa.
In another of the initial Z-Sight installations, direct actions taken on the systems automated optimization advice has now provided over 19,400 barrels of additional oil from the well in 270 days operation. At an average oil price of $93.83 per barrel for the period, the additional revenue provided by this single installation of Z-Sight now stands at US $1.824 million. This increase in production was achieved on a well thought previously to be fully optimized on production.
The Z-Sight technology has been expanded to enable automated optimization and surveillance of Progressive Cavity Pumped wells. The company has invested more than $1.6 million to develop this market-leading system.
Zenith operates in the artificial lift sector of the global oil and gas industry. Established in 2004, Zenith now has 85 staff operating out of 30 countries.
The company designs, assembles and supports industry leading solutions for the gathering and analysis of downhole data and the design of completions equipment. They have also carried out work in Egypt with operator Scimitar to develop a new tool which played a crucial role in increasing well production from 30 BOPD to 8000 BOPD. |
